The Prime Minister of Ivory Coast, has resigned.

On Wednesday, April 13, the head of government announced his resignation at the start of the Council of Ministers, which was chaired by Head of State Alassane Ouattara at the presidential palace in Abidjan-Plateau.

“As a result, I respectfully submit my resignation as Prime Minister, Head of Government, Excellency the President of the Republic,” Patrick Achi said.a

He also thanked the President for the opportunity and offered to work alongside him and “to learn again.”

President Alassane Ouattara accepted the resignation of the government and stated that he would appoint a new prime minister “next week who will propose a tighter government.”

Since March 2021, the Ivorian statesman has served as Prime Minister. He was a member of Henri Konan Bédié’s PDCI at first.
